Fuego is a composite or stratovolcano. Composite volcanoes are formed by lava and rock layers alternating. They are steep and symmetrical cones. It is a continental volcano.

Fuego is an explosive volcano. There are many hazards that people need to be aware of with this volcano. Some of them are lava flows, pyroclastic flows, and debris.
